‘Hindi-Cheeni bhai-bhai’ culture should be adopted by India and China: Dalai Lama

“India and China need each other. They cannot stay against each other if they want peace. It is time that the culture of ‘Hindi-Cheeni bhai-bhai’ is adopted by Indians and Chinese to develop their respective nations,” said Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, who was in Meerut on Monday to attend a school function here at CJDAV Public School.
“India needs China and China needs India. At this time, ‘Hindi-Cheeni bhai-bhai’ culture is the need of the hour for the two nations. Only then will brotherly feelings between the two countries develop and also issues like Doklam can be solved,” said the spiritual leader. He got a warm welcome from the students of the school here, who welcomed him in the traditional Indian style. Police officials and district authorities were seen on their toes for his visit.
He also played down fears of military confrontation between the two countries. “Both the nations should walk together and it is completely wrong to say that China will attack India. This will not happen,” said Lama.
