Srinagar terror attack LIVE updates: Two terrorists neutralised by security forces; counter-terror operations continue

Srinagar: Terrorists on Tuesday attacked a camp of the Border Security Forces (BSF) nearSrinagar International Airport. Four BSF troopers have been injured in the attack and one terrorist has been gunned down in the counter-terror operation by the BSF.
The body of the killed Fidayeen terrorist has been recovered from the spot.

8.35 am: To avoid inconvenience, passengers are being let inside Srinagar Airport after checking. Operations of air traffic have not started yet. Decision of resuming air traffic to be taken by Airports Authority of India and concerned airlines, reports ANI
8.30 am: Flight operations resumed at the Srinagar International Airport. Passengers allowed to move towards Srinagar airport. Meanwhile, airports in metro cities have been put on high alert.
8.25 am: Home Minister Rajnath Singh has called a high-level meeting at 10.30 am to discuss the issue in Jammu and Kashmir, reports ANI.

7.52 am:Troops of BSF, CRPF, 53 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group (SOG), Zonal have placed a tight cordon around the building where terrorists are holed up.
7.45 am: Sources have told Times Now that the Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for the attack. The counter-terror operations are on and intermittent firing is underway in order to neutralise the terrorists.
7.15 am: Residents around the operation site woke up to sounds of blasts and heavy firing. In view of the attack, Kashmir Valley School, which is in the vicinity of the area, will remain closed on Tuesday.
7.12 am: 1 terrorist gunned down, a total of 3 BSF troopers injured in the attack.
7.00 am: Immediately after the terror attack, flights in and out of the airport were cancelled and security was heightened around the airport. However, at around 8.30 am
6.45 am:  Two terrorists are believed to be holed up inside the admin block of the building.
6.30 am: At 4.30 am on Tuesday, two or three heavily armed fidayeen terrorists tried to barge into the BSF 182 battalion campus and their attempt was foiled by the BSF, forcing them to take shelter inside a building at the admin block of the camp

On Monday, Times Now reported that the Border Security Force (BSF) has received fresh information that terrorists are planning a string of attacks similar to the one that caused the death of a young unarmed BSF personnel Constable Mohammad Ramzan Parray.
In an advisory released last week, security forces were warned and asked to remain vigilant when they are unarmed and visiting places on vacation or when they are going to places with large gatherings.
